Each team member is empowered to continuously pursue new ideas and share fresh perspectives, propelling ProCura towards its mission of elevating people’s quality of life.
Since 1979, George has been recognized as one of Alberta’s most influential contributors in the real estate development industry. He directs and leads acquisitions, negotiations, and developments, including design, strategic growth, capital allocation, asset management, and partnership opportunities.
George has been instrumental in piloting the company through numerous downturns as well as significant growth, to where ProCura is now recognized as one of the largest private transit-integrated landowners in Alberta. In 2008, George was named one of Alberta’s 50 Most Influential People by Alberta Venture Magazine in recognition of his significant impact on the growth of Edmonton and Calgary. Most recently George was also named a finalist for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2018.
With nearly 30 years in real estate, Sherry applies her extensive industry knowledge, expertise, and insights to drive and maintain ProCura’s impressive growth. She provides mentorship and coaching for the company’s strategic planning, sales and marketing, partner relations, and business development.
Believing strongly in renewal and reinvestment in urban neighbourhoods, Sherry’s leadership enabled the completion of signature projects, such as Mayfair Village South, one of Edmonton’s largest attainable housing developments, and the redevelopment of the Intact Insurance Building, which received the BOMA BEST® Gold and LEED® Gold – Core & Shell certifications.
In 2014, Sherry founded Signs of Change, a charitable initiative advocating partnerships between businesses, communities, and not-for-profit organizations. To date, Signs of Change has raised over $400,000 for youth-focused charities. Sherry was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network. In addition to this Sherry has also recently been nominated for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2018.
Colin is responsible for ProCura’s Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Legal departments. Prior to joining ProCura, Colin was the Vice President of Finance and Operations at one of Western Canada’s largest private real estate owner & operators. He contributed to the company’s growth from a start-up operation, to large-scale operation with over 300 apartment buildings operating in 14 urban and rural centres, and helped close over $1.25 billion worth of financing transactions during his tenure.
Colin graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2002 with a degree in Management and obtained his Certified Management Accountant designation in 2004.
Danish is responsible for managing ProCura’s financial position and securing the company’s financial strength. He applies his expertise in forecasting to ensure the feasibility of future development projects while building and maintaining relationships with lenders and investors.
Prior to joining ProCura, Danish developed his career in the banking and financing industry and acquired a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick.
Fahim oversees the Operations of ProCura, providing strategic direction and leadership. Prior to joining ProCura, Fahim, together with his partner, owned and operated a number of franchised automobile dealerships in Vancouver. He was also very active serving on several industry Boards. After almost 30 years in the car business, Fahim sold his last dealership in late 2016 and rekindled a prior working relationship with George Schluessel. Fahim and George worked as partners in the commercial real estate industry in the early 1980’s and Fahim is thrilled to be back working alongside George at ProCura once again.
Tamara has established a very strong presence in Western Canada’s real estate market. Starting as an architect and industrial designer, Tamara made her impact in real estate as the owner and operator of Mantaray Creative Inc., a marketing and communications company focusing on sales-driven initiatives. She was responsible for guiding real estate developers to success and was very involved in some of Western Canada’s most successful real estate projects.
Tamara has a proven track record in adding value wherever possible and bringing together the best teams for the greatest possible results. Tamara has brokered and created winning relationships with some of the best organizations and operators in the business. She remains a key player in aligning forward thinking relationships and creating strategic alliances designed to deliver a win-win situation for everyone.
In 2015, Tamara helped sell out the one-of-a-kind and benchmark New Horizon Mall in Calgary, netting $100 million for the client in one day. Tamara has continued to build her experience on successfully completed projects and is now in great demand as a real estate consulting strategist.
Josh St. Cyr
Josh has been recognized as one of Alberta’s premier project and development managers. He is directly involved in the project business case through to execution and handover, ensuring to coordinate all phases of finance, design, procurement, contracting, close out and revenue generation. Josh ensures that the projects are developed in line with the project objectives initiated by the Project Sponsorship and includes the direct input of ProCura business units for optimum results.
Prior to joining ProCura, Josh laid the foundation of his building career in the General Contracting industry until such time as he ventured his own consulting advisory for Project and Development Services. Working concurrently with institutions, developers and investors for projects in Western Canada, he successfully grew the consulting company through to the successful acquisition by ProCura.
Josh surrounds the project stakeholders with highly unique, and process refined project strategies and processes. This allows for empowerment of the associated team members within the project framework, while creating a scalable model for project success, oversight and risk management.
Among many completed courses and programs, Josh has completed Real Estate Trading Services program at the University of British Columbia, and currently holds designation of Project Management Professional (PMP), through the Project Management Institute. Additional designations include Professional Gold Seal Certification (P.GSC) from the Canadian Construction Association and Construction Estimator Certified (CEC) from the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
More recently, Josh has completed Governance Program and Executive Program Training at the University of Alberta. Josh looks forward to the next chapter in ProCura’s evolution under the direction and mentorship of George and Sherry Schluessel.
