Legal Liason

Location: Reporting to: CEO and/or President

Duties:

  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive material
  • Review and organize production documents, scanning and coding documents
  • Draft Affidavit of Records
  • Export and Import new data files
  • Preparation of production, witness and expert binders
  • Organization of exhibits, undertakings, pleadings and motion materials
  • Responsible for maintaining all contracts with supported summaries
  • Develop and maintain a checklist to monitor current and expected work activity
  • Confirmation of delivery to parties involved in execution or input on contractual or management agreements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the consistency and security of company information, including external communications and contracts, as well as internal communications and documents
  • Act as company liaison with lawyers and other legal representatives
  • Work with internal executives around communication and record management for contractual communication and delivery
  • Responsible for confirming all legal invoices and ensuring they are accounted for and coded correctly with accounting to the right property, asset or company
  • Maintain the utmost confidentiality when dealing with matters of a sensitive nature
  • Maintain the legal filing system
  • Prepare drafts of documents and correspondence (letters & memos)
  • Handle telephone, mail and email correspondence
  • Other Administrative duties, as required

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years litigation support/legal assistant experience preferred;
  • Post-secondary education in a Legal Assistant program is an asset;
  • Exceptional organization skills and time management skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Flexible to organizational needs and change in direction;
  • Ability to respond to everyday tasks with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Prioritize tasks on a day-to-day basis in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office;
